This past week I happen to find myself in beautiful Banff National Park. A park that is owned and operated by the Canadian Government and ultimately us the taxpayers of Canada. I don't have a problem with that. However while I was there, two young park rangeretts pulled up and went about checking out the washrooms. They drive around in a Smart Car.
Over these past many many months the Government of Canada, along with the American government, and the province of Ontario along with us, the taxpayers became shareholders of Chrysler and General Motors. Huge bailouts of these two corporate entities that went into the billions and billions of dollars. (I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY BAILOUT!)
What I have a problem with is Parks Canada, which is another entitiy of the Canadian Government, purchases a German built car(s) for it's fleet of vehicles. The government of Canada owns shares in Chrysler and GM and yet they don't even support and purchase cars from one of the two companies that we have a vested interest in? Am I the only one that has a problem with this??
